In October the Surfrider Oahu monthly meeting moves to the new Impact Hub Honolulu as our great friends at RevoluSun move to their new location. Thanks to the generosity of sponsorship from Ulupono Initiative we are able to host meetings for the next two months in this space. This is a great opportunity for our volunteers and ohana to check out the incredible new co-working space that is creating a community of entrepreneurship in the urban core of Honolulu. Learn more on their website (https://impacthubhnl.com/) and join us.
We also have so much to discuss on our Surfrider front that we want to make sure that we have another huge turnout. As we near the end of the year, we’ll announce our winners for 15th Annual John Kelly Awards and let you know how to get involved with helping.
There are so many exciting advancement in our Ocean Friendly Hawaii program as we continue to certify Ocean Friendly Restaurants and build new Ocean Friendly Gardens. These programs along with our Blue Water Task Force will be the primary focus of our 2018 strategic plan that is now already in the works.
We’ll also have guest speakers discussing urban forestry and the EIS process changes. SO much on the agenda for you to find ways to connect with. Spread the word about the new meeting space, bring a friend, and bring a potluck dish to share! See you on the first Wednesday.
