Pest & Disease Management with Wade Bauer
Learn organic and nontoxic solutions to deal with some of the worst pests in East Hawaii. This class will be focusing on slugs, pigs, banana bunchy top virus, and more.

Wade Bauer has taught Permaculture for over 13 years, with 10 years in Hawaii. He has a B.S. in Environmental Biology and is the founder of Malama Aina Permaculture: Edible Landscape Design, Education, and Nursery. Wade’s farm in Kapoho is focused on being a demonstration site modeling a locally appropriate sustainable homestead.

Hawaiian Sanctuary’s Plant Aloha Series of FREE Sustainable Farming Classes is proud to present Korean Natural Farming (6 Class Series) with Eric (Drake) Weinert. Eric was born and raised in Hawaiian Acres. He has lived and taught Korean Natural Farming for over a decade under Master Cho and is presently the Secretary of Cho Global Natural Farming Hawai’i.

Plant Aloha Series Hawaiian Sanctuary is proud to present Plant Aloha, a free educational series of various sustainable farming classes every Thursday morning, from 9:00am until 12:30pm with monthly special offerings, led by local and visiting experts.

wade1The goal of this series is to teach Hawaii residents how to efficiently grow their own food at home to provide a fresh organic balanced diet. From field or backyard to table all the crops necessary are covered including their: propagation, cultivation, harvest, preservation, and use.

The permaculture tools and techniques we teach focus on easy and practical ways to create food abundance at home. Every class is a blend of practical theory and hands on projects. Occasionally, free plant starts will be available.
